Deployment of AirCore TAF20 in Fire at Recycling Plant near Melbourne
In a recycling plant at Coolaroo, 19 kilometres north of Melbourne a fire has broken out on Thursday, 13.07.2017. Numerous Country Fire Authority (CFA) units and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) were battling with more than 130 firefighters the fire that broke out in a pile of recycled materials outside the factory, until it could be brought under control two days later. Two CAFS Bulk Water Tanker as well as our Turbine Aided Firefighting robot AIRCORE TAF20 were used.
The turbo fire extinguisher on crawler chassis AIRCORE TAF20 has an aerosol turbine for large volumes of mist. The range of water is up to 75 metres. Furthermore, it can be remotely operated and sent into situations where it is too dangerous for firefighters.
Thanks to all these characteristics, the AIRCORE TAF20 once again could prove its effectiveness. Consequently, larger damages could be prevented.
