The symposium in Bad Dürkheim is one of the definite highlights in the event calendar in the field of industrial fire protection. This year, on 19 and 20 September 2024, there were once again numerous high-quality presentations in addition to a well-planned supporting program, including on the topic of “Optimizing technical fire protection by converting to stationary and mobile water mist turbines”. This was the title of the specialist lecture given by Mr. Franziskus Fuchs from Chemische Fabrik Karl Bucher GmbH as part of the 26th symposium of plant fire departments in Bad Dürkheim.

For some time now, the chemical company, headquartered in Bavaria, has been using water mist turbines in both stationary and mobile applications to ensure fire protection in the production plant. Always ready for use, several FT10e firefighting turbines are installed at the site as components of an extinguishing system, as well as a TAF AirCore extinguishing robot.

Mr. Fuchs explained to the numerous participants in the symposium and listeners online why the use of water mist turbines in the chemical sector is so special and why the company has decided to invest in this type of fire protection. Among the many participants were members of the plant fire departments, as well as other representatives from the operational and preventive fire protection sector, licensing and supervisory authorities, professional fire departments and industry representatives.

We were also pleased that our partner Magirus GmbH was on site with a firefighting robot, so that the participants of the symposium even had the opportunity to take a close look at the TAF AirCore in real life.

We would like to thank Mr. Fuchs and the WFVD Bundesverband Betrieblicher Brandschutz - Werkfeuerwehrverband Deutschland e.V. for the great event!
